Anyone who’s been paying attention to Nevada’s online poker promotions lately has surely noticed the series of GTD Shootout freerolls that occurred every evening this week at Real Gaming. Each event was announced just hours before it happened, and it’s finally apparently that there was a method to the madness of the site’s marketeering team. This morning, it was revealed that Real Gaming is hosting a weekend-long series of satellite tournaments with super low buy-ins, culminating into a $1,000 GTD Shootout on Sunday.
When the promotional email went out this morning to all members of Nevada’s newest online poker room, all of the missing puzzle pieces fell into place. Real Gaming had been hosting progressively larger guaranteed Shootout tournaments all week long at no charge in an effort to gage interest from the Nevada online poker community.
The first event, held Monday as a special President’s Day $150 GTD Shootout freeroll, was open to only 50 players. The next day, Real Gaming announced another free Shootout, this time guaranteeing $200 and increasing the field to 100 players. On Wednesday, another freeroll was held with the exact same structure as Tuesday’s edition.
With seats filling up quick and traffic surely the highest it’s been since Real Gaming initiated a hard launch in Oct 2014, there was no better time to kick the campaign into high gear. The online poker room presented its highest ever GTD prize pool, with multiple satellite tournaments and low enough buy-ins to keep players interested throughout the weekend.
Real Gaming will be hosting 8 GTD Shootout Satellite tournaments, four today and four tomorrow, leading up to the big $1,000 GTD Shootout on Sunday. Players can qualify for as little as $1, or simply post the $20 buy-in to secure a seat in Sunday’s guarantee. As noted in the promotional content, “It’s first come first serve”, and participation is limited to just 50 seats for the for the big Sunday tournament.
